Description

The HY12-5 SMPS  (Switch Mode Power Supply)  is the modern approach of supplying +12Vdc power to our single supply  Audio Tone Control board,  other electronic  gadgets and Trainer / Training board like Arduino and Micro Controller  Projects (PIC/AVR/8051) with universal MCU supply of +5Vdc, to make it space efficient, economical, lightweight and efficient use of power.

 

The HY12-5 SMPS Module will replaces the old traditional Transformer + Rectifier + Capacitance + Regulator to generate DC signal of +12Vdc and +5Vdc  from the household 220Vac power.  This old solution is bulky, costly and heavy because of the transformer which is metal parts.

Applications:

1. Audio Power Amplifier Class-D  or Class -T single supply
2. Audio Tone Control Single Supply +/-12Vd
3. Auxiliary circuit like MCU / Arduino / PIC requires +5Vdc
4. Any other electronic board that requires combo of +12Vdc and +5Vdc

CAUTION:

This SMPS Module carry  220~240Vac AC voltage –  Electrical safety should be observed.   If this is your first time to work with 220 ~240Vac with SMPS,  you may consult a professional electronics person and guide you to use this product.   Never touch any part of the SMPS module when it is connected to the 220Vac power.

1. This is an SMPS Power Supply which replaces the Transformer, rectifier and smoothing capacitors and Regulators in a traditional Power Supply System
2. The maximum voltage of your  project should  be known,  2 outputs of  +12Vdc@5A  and +5Vd@1A
3. The +12Vdc/5Amp can supply your Single Supply Class-D or Class-T amplifier and single Tone Control or Equalizer or any audio gadgets,  or other project requiring +12Vdc supply.
4. the +5Vdc is generally used to supply MCU base circuit and LCD,  like PIC/AVR/8051 or Arduino board that can be incorporated into your project as a host controller.
